In this Case History, we analyze an operation carried out on a Suzuki GSX-8S MY2025 equipped with a Mitsubishi MH8601 ECU, in the 35 kW restricted configuration. The objective was to restore the motorcycle to the performance level of the full-power version, bringing back both the original power output and the riding functions provided by the manufacturer. This is one of the most requested modifications in the motorcycle sector today.

Thanks to ECM Titanium software, it was possible to identify and manage the main strategies involved in torque and power limitation, achieving a result consistent with the standard vehicle configuration.

The tuning was carried out by working on the limiting strategies present in the original calibration, with the aim of bringing the motorcycle back to its maximum power of 62 kW and making the riding modes available again in all 3 variants.

What modifications were made?

The first step was to restore full engine power by working on the main maps involved in torque management and delivered power.

In particular, thanks to ECM Titanium, it was possible to work on:

  • electronic throttle management;
  • engine load management;
  • injection correction tables.

These modifications made it possible to remove the limitations present in the original calibration and restore the motorcycle to the performance level of the full-power version, increasing output from approximately 48 hp to approximately 83 hp.

The second phase of the operation concerned the reactivation of the riding modes. In the full-power version of the GSX-8S, three selectable riding modes are available, while in the 35 kW configuration these functions are disabled.

To restore them, we worked on the calibration areas that manage the activation of the riding modes and the response of the electronic throttle.

Once the operation was completed, the ECU returned to managing all the riding modes provided by the manufacturer.
